I have a formal Art History and Fine Arts education with emphasis on drawing and intaglio and serigraphy printingmaking techniques from the College of the Sequoias and Sacramento State in California and the University of Oregon. As a colored pencil artist I am completely self-taught.
I was born in Chicago Heights, Illinois on October 30, 1948, and lived there until joining the U.S. Navy in 1969. I was stationed in California where I remained until 1975 when I moved to Eugene, Oregon. After earning an undergraduate degree in Computer Science at the University of Oregon, I moved to Portland, Oregon where I enjoyed a successful career in the Information Technology industry. I segued into a full-time career as an artist after retirement in 2014.
Michael A. Stasko lives in Sisters, Oregon and has been exhibiting his work at Sisters Gallery and Frame since 2015.
